Jane: So how long have they been going without food? Jack: A few haven’t eaten or drunk anything for a few days. The rest are taking turns not eating for twelve hours. Jane: Huh? And they call that a hunger strike? Jack: So people hunger striking in the States really don’t eat at all then? Jane: Right. The idea is that they care about something so much, they’re willing to die for it. Jack: That’s intense. I’m glad these students aren’t endangering themselves like that. Jane: Me, too.
