纳木错

纳木错位于西藏自治区中部，是西藏的一个咸水湖。纳木错为藏语“天湖”之意。纳木错是经喜马拉雅运动凹陷而成，为断陷构造湖，属内流湖，其湖盆呈西南—东北走向。湖水来源主要是天然降水和高山融冰化雪补给。纳木错是西藏的“三大圣湖”之一，为著名的佛教圣地之一。

Lake Namtso

Lake Namtso, meaning "celestial lake" in Tibetan, is a saltwater lake situated in the central part of Tibet Autonomous Region. A rift lake and an inland lake, it is formed by the depression of Himalaya Orogeny with the lake basin in SW-NE direction. The lake is mainly fed by natural rainfall and meltwater from high mountains. Lake Namtso is one of "three sacred lakes" in Tibet and a sacred site in Buddhism.
