参考范文Although basic interpersonal ability is a must for most jobs, some businesses find their new employees who just finished their education lack it and struggle at the start to work in a team. While it is easy for some people to start bombarding on our educational system with the blame, I think they should stop before clarifying the reasons behind this problem. After all, work is a completely new experience and schooling can’t always prepare students that far and much.

On the one hand, communication is a matter with the social status of both sides of it, and work in a business team has positioned the employees in a totally different social structure from school,which requires time for these fresh worker to reorient themselves in such kind of relationship. While there are only teachers and students at school and opinions are exchanged in a usually direct way, there are, undeniably, hierarchical situations between colleagues ranked by their job titles and opinions should be expressed in related way. On the other hand, it’s vital for us to realize that communication, especially in a team, is a skill, which means it’s something that should be learned and trained out in real situations. As far as I know, most companies choose email as their formal way to communicate, and there are various formats of email expression. I wonder how could a fresh graduate know the exact way of wording or the minute tonal difference in email with their first party rather than their vendor, with or without another senior, manger or director needed to be copied in sending, considering the specific affair in communications, if they are not born to the job of emailing.

To solve the problem, schools and universities should certainly leave more extracurricular time for students to take internship in companies. But more importantly, the businesses should take the responsibility in adjusting their recruits to communications in new environment, that is, to leave proper budget for training and mentoring the freshers as a matter of long-term benefits of the team.
