Now, I am writing you this letter of apology to show my deep regret. Please accept my sincere apology with gratitude. I hope you will understand me and excuse me for my absence. The reason for my absence was that I had an engagement with some friends and, ignorant of your visit, accompanied them to the cinema. Besides, not until 9 o’clock in the evening did I come back.
