Situated among picturesque valleys of the Wudang Mountains in Hubei Province, the Complex took shape in the Ming Dynasty (the 14th-17th centuries) and the Taoist buildings there can be dated back to the 7th century. These buildings were designed and built as per the highest standards of Chinese art and architecture over a period of around 1,000 years.
